On December 30, 2022, the Vespa Club of Bangladesh hosted a rally called the “Gentleman’s Ride” in memory of Humayaun Kabir. The event was organized by Rupok Rahman and aimed to promote the elegance and simplicity of using a traditional ride like a Vespa without causing any road hazards. The meeting point for riders was at the Taboosh Restaurant in Rifle’s Square, where they were invited to participate in the “Gentleman’s Ride 2022 by Vespa Club Bangladesh.”
The event was not limited to the Vespa Club of Bangladesh, as other clubs such as Vespa Club Sylhet, Vespa Club Rangpur, and Jashore-Khulna Vespa Club also arranged their own “Gentleman’s Ride – 2022” at different places. To participate, everyone was required to wear formal attire including a shirt, pants, coat, blazer, tuxedo, hat, shoes or boots, and a tie or bow tie.
The event began with a 30-second moment of silence in memory of Humayaun Kabir, followed by the awarding of an educational scholarship to his son. The club also distributed crests to invited guests who have made significant contributions to the biking community and honored Team BikeBD for their 10 years of dedication to the two-wheeler community.
Guests were provided with snacks and souvenirs such as a keyring, coat pin, badge, event sticker, and certificate from the club. The ride started at Rifle’s Square and ended at the Dhanmondi 27 Eye Hospital, where it began. The Vespa Club of Bangladesh organized the event at the end of the year as a way to kick-start their new year. For more information about Vespa two-wheelers, visit their showroom or website.
