Hero Motocorp, the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has recently stepped into the electric vehicle market by introducing its latest two-wheeler, the Hero Vida V1. The company launched this electric scooter in India last month as part of its strategy to establish a presence in the growing EV market and attract customers to its new brand.
The Hero Vida V1 will be offered in two variants, the Vida V1 Plus and the Vida V1 Pro, according to the available information. Both of these electric scooters can reach a top speed of 80 kmph, with the Vida V1 Plus having a range of 143 km and the Vida V1 Pro offering a range of 165 km under ideal conditions.
The front of the scooter is equipped with a telescopic fork suspension, a 12-inch bus, belt-drive technology, connected technology, a fully digital rider’s screen, and various riding modes. The scooter’s full single-cycle charge range is expected to be around 150 km, although this is only an estimate.
The Hero Vida 1 electric scooter offers three riding modes, namely Eco, Ride, and Sports, as well as a custom mode for the rider’s convenience. It also features a removable battery that has undergone multiple tests such as drop, crush, and nail penetration. The Vida V1’s BMS has passed 570 tests and is a lifetime adaptive learning architecture that enhances battery longevity, according to the company. The Hero V1 also has a Limp Home mode.
Although electric vehicles are not yet popular in Bangladesh, they are expected to become more prevalent in the near future, eventually replacing traditional motorcycles and scooters. Therefore, the hope is that Hero will soon introduce its EV scooter in Bangladesh.
